In this module, we discussed the various design components needed to create a quality media product. We discovered layout and composition we took a look at the importance of proper formatting and layout for media design. We looked at the importance of highlighting key terms as well as keeping the font both readable and appropriate in size. Whether it is a web design or graphic design, the composition needs to be well structured. It's essential to think like a designer when creating a medium for many reasons. For example, you dont want to confuse the reader. When creating a design, we need to consider five key points, proximity, white space, alignment, contrast, and repetition.
We also discussed typography letters have their own anatomy, and there is a wide range of terms to describe every tiny element of a letter. Typography is an entire family of related fonts that share many similarities in their styles. In graphic design, knowing the anatomy of letters and the decorative decorations added to the base anatomy can help or not help communicate the message intended to your audience. When choosing a font, it's important to consider the design that is appropriate to your message.
There is a reason why some colors and color combinations are more pleasing to us than others. In this module, we learned about color theory.
The color theory provides a logical structure that can help the designer arrange, coordinate, and relate colors to each other. After learning the various media design components, I realized my website was poorly designed and needed a fixup. The information in this module helped me produce a better quality product.
We also discovered tips and tricks regarding images, audio, and animation to produce great videos. Who knew putting your phone on airplane mode would help with audio background noise?
I enjoyed creating my logo for this assignment; however, I had a hard time coming up with a tagline. So I took advice from this module " keep it simple. "
