Letter of Interest

To whom this may concern,

My name is Andrea DeLaCruz, and I am writing to apply for the Instructional Technologist position. I am currently toward the end of my graduate course in tech education and anticipate graduating in May with a Masters's in tech education. With my teaching experience in face-to-face and virtual teaching, graduate education, work experience in online learning, and conducting professional developments for teachers, I would be excellent for this position.

Multimedia competencies are essential for an Educational Technologist I believe the Ability and the Skill competency are the most important. The ability to create effective instructional products is important because, as an educator, you want the learner to accomplish what you are teaching. The ability to work well with others and the ability to teach face-to-face is something we as teachers are used to.

As an educator, I am proficient in multimedia programs. For example, during the pandemic, the ability to apply sound instructional design principles was more important than ever as we had to teach virtually. I am skilled at working independently, thus having the ability to work independently was essential. I am also proficient in oral communication, written communication, web design, video production, and organizational skills. Having these skills will allow for a thriving learning environment, whether teaching virtually or in person.

The Knowledge competency is essential as well, but I believe the Ability and the Skill competency link the Knowledge competency in itself.

A skill I am excited to learn more about is computer programming/scripting skills. My love for technology began in my early years of college, and technology drives me to learn more. I have knowledge of web design and enjoy teaching others about technology. I also look out for technological solutions to create meaningful learning.

My plan to improve my skills and to show a willingness to grow is to continue to take learning into my own hands and keep an eye on ever-changing things.
